The song being discussed in this post is a multiple version song. In the female version song, the lady pulls the leg of the gentleman by mocking him. In the male version of the song, the gentlleman returns the compliment.
This song is from the movie ‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa-1959’. Male version is sung by Mohd Rafi and the female version is sung by Asha Bhonsle. As per the song list of this movie in Geet Kosh the Asha Bhonsle version appears first (if the HFGK song list is in the order in which the songs appear in the movie) and the Rafi version happens later.
‘Maine Jeenaa Seekh Liyaa’-1959, a social movie, was directed by Satish Nigam for Filmistan Limited, Bombay. This movie was passed by the Censor Board on 10.12.1959.
The cast of this movie had Ameeta, Ravindra Kapoor, Durga Khote, P. Kailash, Badri Prasad, Agha, Savita Chatterjee, Lata, Sushil Kumar, Murad, Noorjahan, Narbada Shankar, Tiger (Dog), Munshi Khanjar and others. This movie has eight songs contributed by two lyricist viz. Anand Bakshi and Rahil Gorakhpuri. Both of them wrote four songs each for this movie.
This movie made its debut on this blog on 12.12.2011 with its’ song ‘tere pyaar ko iss tarah bhulaanaa’ in the voice of Mukesh. The second song from the movie was later posted on 28.07.2017 which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and the song is ‘ye zameen ye gagan apnee dhun mein hain magan’. The singers for this movie are Asha Bhonsle, Mohd Rafi and Mukesh only. Later on we add the third song for this movie i.e. ‘ye nashaa aap kaa sarkaar utar jaayegaa’ in the voice of Asha Bhonsle. The fourth songs from this movie was added recently on 27.05.2026 which is ‘itnee see baat pe bigad gaye’.
So, out of the eight songs of this movie, four songs have been covered so far.
It seems that the songs from this movie were not available in the past, but now some of these songs have become available. The songs being discussed seems to be available on internet since 2021 in a link that combined for versions. Separate versions have become available a few months ago. We are grateful to the music lovers who have shared the links of such lesser heard songs with other music lovers.
Such songs from black and white era are well picturised and are nice to watch. But unfortunately the video of this song is not available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
Rahil Gorakhpuri is the lyricist of this song. Music is composed by the music maestro Roshan.
