Today is a very special day for this blog as it is the birthday of our Dear Atul jee the ‘fearless leader’ of this ‘musical band wagon’ and the founder of this blog. So, here is wishing Atul jee ‘a Happy Birthday today and a healthy, prosperous, peaceful and a musical life’ ahead!!!
On this occasion, we celebrate Atul jee’s birthday by posting a song (obviously this being song blog we could not miss this special opportunity) suitable for this occasion. I am sure he will be enjoying this as well as his personal special party today with his family members at his place.
As regulars on this blog are aware that nowadays I am bringing some ‘drink, drunk and drunkard songs’ from our Hindi movies on this blog. Today I bring here the most popular ‘drunkard song’ from recent years. During my stay in Kenya this song was played in all the parties we the Indians had there among colleagues. This song is from the movie ‘Tirangaa-1993’.
“Tirangaa-1993” was directed by Mehul Kumar for his home productions ‘M.K. Pictures’. It was passed by the censor board on 08.01.1993. The cast of this movie has Raaj Kumar, Nana Patekar, Varsha Usgaonkar, Hareesh and Mamta Kulkarni. They were supported by Krish Mallik, Girish Mallik, Arjun, Anjana Mumtaz, Satyen Kappu, Sujeet Kumar, Alok Nath and Deepak Shirke, and others. Suresh Oberoi, Sonika Gill and Manohar Singh had a special appearance in this movie.
K.K. Singh was the writer of this movie, and editing was done by Yusuf Sheikh. Santosh Anand penned the songs for this movie and music was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The playback singers for this movie are Mohd Aziz, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sadhana Sargam, Udit Narayan, Sudesh Bhonsle and Hussain Bloch (and this needs to be noted in view of the recent ‘Dhrandhar’ movie song. We will discuss this later with another song from this movie).
I have collated information and brief about this movie from Internet which I am giving here below.
Tirangaa (1993) is a patriotic action-drama directed by Mehul Kumar. It follows a no-nonsense Brigadier (Surya Dev Sing played by Raaj Kumar) and a hot-headed police inspector (Shivarjirao Wagle, played by Nana Patekar) who team up to stop an evil terrorist threatening to launch nuclear missiles on Independence Day. The film is celebrated for its dramatic dialogues and blockbuster commercial success.
The story begins when the ruthless terrorist Pralayanath Gundaswami (Deepak Shirke) kidnaps top nuclear scientists to build missiles for an invasion of India. When honest Police DIG Rudra Pratap Chauhan (Suresh Oberoi) tries to intervene, Gundaswami brutally murders him.
The government brings in the fiercely patriotic and stylish Brigadier Suryadev Singh (Raaj Kumar). Singh allies with Police Inspector Shivarjirao Wagle (Nana Patekar), an honest but temperamental renegade cop who has spent much of his career on suspension. Together, the duo uncovers a massive web of corruption involving a crooked central minister. The plot escalates as the Brigadier and Wagle must simultaneously thwart the missile launch and navigate personal stakes, ultimately invading the villain’s secret, high-tech lair.
Today’s song takes place in the movie to celebrate the birthday of Brigadier Surya Dev Singh (Raaj Kumar) where his colleagues in the army have arranged this party. So, this is a nice party song and a rocking party song too. This song perfectly serves for the today’s occasion of Atul jee’s birthday as we blog members would like to celebrate and wish him on this occasion.
