#The Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet #
Today’s song is from the 1973 movie ‘Phir Aayaa Toofaan’. It was directed by B.J. Patel for ‘People Pictures, Bombay’. This movie was produced by Dhanpatrai. I do not remember to have heard about this movie earlier or having watched it in my child hood. This seems to be lesser known movie. But this movie is available on internet and those interested can watch it there. Geet Kosh mentions this movie as a ‘social’ movies. However it seems to be a ‘c’ grade stunt movie.
The cast of this movie included Dara Singh, Madhu Malini, Anand Chani, Madhu Malandhar, Satyadeep, Shery, Surya Kumar, Gul Hamid, Rekha Chauhan, Radhabai, R.P. Sharma, Kamal, Ajit, Rahi, Gil, Neela, Mahendra Zaveri, B.M. Vyas, Miss Reeta, Master Virendra, Randhawa, Master Amrik Randhawa, Harbhajan Singh, Saudagar Singh, Lucky Ram and others. Story and screenplay of this movie was written by T. Rebello. And dialogues of this movie were written by G. Sethuraman. Editing of this movie was done by Baburao Barodekar. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 17.09.1973.
‘Phir Aayaa Toofaan’ has four songs written by Abhilash. Music of this movie was composed by Robin Bannerjee. As per HFGK (Vol-V) Suman Kalyanpur, Krishna Kalle, Bela Sawer and Robin Bannerjee had given their voices to the songs in this movie. (However the titles of the movie mention only the names of Suman Kalyanpur and Krishna Kalle in the playback section).
Today I am presenting the third song from this movie.
The song is picturised as a dance and diversion song on Madhu Malini in a villain’s den where many henchmen of the villain are smoking ‘gaanjaa’ (marijuana). Dara Singh enters there and pretends to join them in smoking the stuff. The song ends when all the intoxicated henchmen fall unconscious.
The video of this song is longer with three stanzas while the audio is incomplete and has only two stanzas.
I would request knowledgeable readers who had watched this movie to throw more light on the movie and its songs please.
