Mukesh and his Co-Singers –19
In today’s post on Mukesh and his co-singers, we take up one of the two songs that he sang with playback singer Bela Saaver (Saver). In one of my recent posts, I have requested readers to add more information on this singer. There have been no responses yet.
My own efforts are also not yielding a decent bio-post on her. She has given playback in films like Basti aur Bazaar (1973), Phir Aaya Toofan (1973), Gora Baboo (1976) etc. There are also quite a few NF ghazals and devotional songs sung by her.
On the blog, I was able to trace one solo sung by her and was not amused to read the last line of the post. 😊
With this song, Bela Sawar makes her debut as a singer in the blog. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this unknown singer.
Coming to today’s post, the two songs that she sang with Mukesh are enlisted in the table below. Both songs are from the film Aarohi (1982) and I reproduce whatever little info I had provided on this film in my earlier post.
Since Mukesh passed away in 1976, it is quite evident that this film took a long time to get released. One source says it was a romantic drama starring Kishore Kapoor, Vipin Kapoor, and Rama Vij. IMDB says Rakesh Pandey was also part of the cast. The music was composed by duo Anand Sagar-Kiran and the songs were written by Bharat Vyas. There is not much information on this film but 4 songs of Mukesh are available for listening. One with Hemlata is being taken up today, 2 are duets with Bela Saaver and one is a solo.
