After a gap of almost a week or so, I am returning to the series,” DEBUT OR FIRST FILM SONGS”,with the 9th song .
Readers will recollect that while discussing the Debut song of Madhubala Jhaveri, I had spoken of (or rather written about ) COMETS in the film industry. Today we will take a look at one more such comet, who came, sang songs and returned from where he came-on his own free will. The second song in the series ” VINTAGE KISHORE” is from a less known film Andolan-1951. It is likely that most people have not even heard the name of this film. It was produced by Harnam Motwani, under the banner of his own Motwani Ltd. Bombay. Pannalal Ghosh was the Music Director and the songs were written by Indeevar, Niyaz Hyder and Bankim Chandra chatterjee. The cast of the film was Kishore Kumar, Shivraj, Manju, Pushpa, Parshuram, Tiwari, Shekhar, Krishnakant etc. There were only 5 songs in it but 8 playback singers were used.

Today is the 15th of August ֠a date that has a very special meaning and significance for all Indians, wherever they may be in this world. For it was on the 15th of August 1947 that India got its independence from British rule.
This date is therefore understandably celebrated by Indians. It is a national holiday in the country too.
