The reasons why the songs from the golden era of Bollywood music (circa 1950-1980) still retain their magic
are-
(1) the creators of these songs devoted time and energy to create them
(2) the creators were extremely talented and committed
(3) the listeners of these songs did not have too many other means of entertainment so they too listened to these songs with interest and by paying undivided attention.

In Bollywood movie songs, “dil” (heart” ) is an important subject of songs. In these songs, “dil” is desrcibed like it is a glassware. It gets broken, and also stolen- and that too at the hands of the beloved.

“Chhalia” (1960) had many songs which were sung by Lata (for Nutan) and Mukesh (for Raj Kapoor). But the final song of this movie was sung by Rafi and it was picturised on Raj Kapoor.

I have posted one song from “Miss Bombay” (1957) in the past. Today I stumbled upon another song from this song. And what a song it is ! Such a lively song ! I do not know too many songs that are this full of joie de vivre.

It has been pointed out to me that this song was missing from this blog. In fact there are so many nice songs that are yet to be posted, and it will take time before I am able to do justice to all these songs. “Aapke Deewaane” (1980) is a movie that had some nice songs in it. This is one of the few movies I recall where Rafi and Kishore Kumar sang together. It was perhaps for the last time that the two sang together, since Rafi died shortly thereafter.
