So, we reached yet another century of songs yesterday (16 august 2014), viz song number 10100. After the great excitement and anticipation associated with the 10,000th song, this next century song almost went unnoticed. 🙂 In one of the few comments that were made in it, it was mentioned by Raja that the 10k th song appeared to have been posted just a few days back. In reality that was four weeks back. So this century took nearly one month and that is slow going by the standards of this blog.

Today (15 august 2014) is the 68th Independence day of India. It is the seventh independence day for this blog.

We have seen seven republic days as well in the meanwhile. Almost all well known patriotic songs from Hindi movies as well as some well known NFS have been covered in the blog. But we still have several songs for the occasion that are not yet covered in the blog.

Ever since the talkies came into being, Shakespeare’s plays have been one of the most favourites literary sources that have been used in Hindi films after suitably adapting them. The first talkie film adapted from Shakespeare’s play ‘Hamlet’ is stated to be ‘Khoon Ka Khoon’ (1935) directed by Sohrab Modi.
