“Kanhaiyya” (1959) is a movie that had some very nice songs in it. I have already posted two lovelly songs from this movie, viz “mujhe tumse kuchh bhi na chaahiye” and “ruk jaa o jaane waali ruk jaa”.

I am vaguely aware of the movie “Insaan Jaag uthaa” (1959). Now I know that this movie had Sunil Dutt and Madhubala in lead roles. I was not aware earlier that the two had worked together in a movie.

In Bollywood movies, when boy first sees a girl, he would sing a teasing song addressed to her. She would take exception, naturally, but later on, she would fall in love with him and then they would sing a duet, running round trees.

When one thinks of Shammi Kapoor, one invariably thinks of Rafi, Hasrat Jaipuri and Shankar Jaikishan. There are many people who in fact may well think that they were together with Shammi Kapoor right from the beginning of Shammi Kapoor phenomenon.
