I have posted a superb Kishore Kumar song from “Manmauji”(1962) in the past that went “Zaroorat hai zaroorat hai”. It was a playful light hearted song and showed that Madan Mohan could compose this kind of songs as well.

Here is the title song of the Raj Kapoor movie “Aashiq” (1962). Like what was the case in his earlier movies viz “Aawaara” and “Chhaliyya”, this song from “Aashiq” serves as an introduction song as well, where the hero inroduces himself as the “Aashiq” and describes in good detail what are the things for which he is the “aashiq” (lover)

Manna Dey was often called upon to sing (a) either for bit actors or (b) difficult songs. Additionally these songs ended up being picturised on bit actors and/ or as comedy songs though Manna Dey would sing these songs with full seriousness.
