Everywhere we see people are doing a recap or recount of all the things that occurred in the last year. There are people who are doing count down of the songs that released in the year. There are others who are posting photos of the year that was, on the friendly social networking sites. Its been about a month since I last sent any write-up to Atul. (I remember the last thing I did was send the lyrics of a song to Atul and Sudhirji for Sanjeev Kumar death anniversary). Not that I was short of ideas. It is just that various factors contributed to keeping me away from the blog. I have more than a month’s posts to catch up with. First it was diwali. Then my dearest niece’s engagement which took me to Chennai for a weekend. (Actually I had thought I will be able to call up our YYIIPPEEEE!!!! master when I was in his land but that also didn’t materialize. Sorry YYIIPPEEEE!!!! Master)

Today’s song is from film Zubeidaa-2000. It is sung by Alka Yagnik and the MD is A R Rahman.
Zubeidaa was a film (one of the only 2 such films in India ), made on the life of actress Zubeida, who operated during 1937 to 1949. This Zubeida is NOT the Alam Ara fame Zubeida. That Zubeida had left films in 1935,after marrying a very rich Jahagirdar-Raja Dhanraj Gir ji from Hyderabad (Deccan).
