I have already posted a memorable Kishore Kumar song (Mere mehboob qayamat hogi) from this movie called “Mr X in Bombay”(1964). This movie starred Kishore Kumar and Kumkum.
I am not sure what the movie was like, but it seems to me that Mr X, the main character of this movie could become invisible, just like the hero of “Mr India” (1987).

Rafi, who had seen his crown as the leading male singer taken over in early 1970s, was in fact almost without work for nearly one year, that is how strongly the gale force of Kishore Kumar’s singing had hit Bollywood music scene those days. But towards the later half of 1970s, one witnesses a resurgence on the part of Rafi. “Desh Premi” (1982) was one movie that I actually liked rather whole heartedly, but it appears that I was once again in the minority. While Manmohan Desai movies that I disliked turned out to be big hits, this movie was regarded as a damp squib at the box office.

For those interested in cricket in general and IPL in particular, Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla are the owners of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team. They came together in 2008 to buy this floundering team.

In 1970s, when Amitabh Bachchan ruled the roost, I found it perplexing that Amitabh Bachchan movies with silly plots did good business whereas movies which were truly good in my judgement failed at the box office. To my mind, movies like “The Great Gambler”, and “Deshpremi” weere better movies than say “Muqaddar ka Sikandar” and “Suhaag”, but that is not what the public thought at that time.
