“Taqdeer” (1967) was a Rajshree Productions movie about a family that gets separated from its sole breadwinner (Bharat Bhushan) and lives without him. Bharat Bhushan, presumed dead comes back many years later and finds himself a stranger in his own home. It was a moving tale which was nicelty picturised. The songs of this movie captured the essense of the movie wonderfully well.

In the early 70s Bangalore was heaven on earth. It was a city you could walk around in, full of gardens and broad sidewalks. If you were a movie lover, this was the place to be. My best friend Aruna lived a few houses away from me, we were constant companions to each other. A short distance from our house was Kempegowda Circle, or KG Circle, that was like a jungle of cinema houses. There were times when we found an empty ticket window, bought a couple of tickets, got into the hall and asked people in seats next to us about the movie that was playing. Some of the halls were so close together, it was hard to figure out where we were.

There was a Hindi movie called “Commercial Pilot Officer”(1963). This obscure movie was a Deepak Jyoti Production. That is all I know about this movie.

“Abdullah” (1980) was a movie that received quite a bit of publicity during its making, but people lost interest once it was released. I do not know why. This movie never came to my town, which is normally the facte of B grade movies and not a movie which was produced and directed by an A grade Producer like err Sanjay Khan :).

“Suhaana Safar” (1970) is an obscure movie despite being a “recent” movie by the standards of this blog :). The movie was produced by R C Kumar and directed by Vijay. Its starcast had Shashi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, David Abraham, Lalita Pawar, K. N. Singh, Om Prakash, Tiwari, Bhagwan, Sunder, Manmohan Krishna, Leela Misra, Randhir, Mukri, Keshto Mukherjee etc in it. Now we know why the movie was obscure despite being a recent movie :).
