Generally as I keep locating songs online, I keep creating a draft email on Outlook with lyrics immediately transcribed. This list is generally 15 to 20 deep and so the songs that I pick up today generally end up reaching the blog for posting about 8 to 10 days later. But sometimes I come across such a wonderful melody, or an extreme favorite that I have been waiting for long, that I am generally tempted to send it along right away. That is the case with this song. And once you hear it, I am sure you will understand my urgency for forwarding it 🙂

“Luteraa” (1965) is a B grade movie starring Dara Singh.Of course, Laxmikant Pyarelal, the upcoming music directors, who were signed up to compose music for this movie maintained that Dara Singh movies used to be big banner movies and calling them B grade is unfair. Power to you- Laxmikant Pyarelal. There are definitely many of us now who love these so called B grade movies. Brainless entertainment and grade Z gems- waah ! There cannot be higher “praise” than that for Dara Singh movies !

Dara Singh, who was a legend among Indians of 1960s and 1970s became a fairly well known actor in Bollywood movies too. Most of his movies were C grade stuff, scoffed at by the “purists”, but his movies must have been profitable, considering that movies featuring Dara Singh continued to get produced. IN fact, Dara Singh himself produced many of his own movies.
