I have mentioned this fact time and again that old Bollywood movies could be categorised as A grade, B grade etc based on its budget, but one could not categorise the music of these Bollywood movies likewise. The musical talent available to the B ,C and lower grade movies was just as great as those available to the A grade movies.

I am aware of at least three movies called “Faraar”. These movies were released at a gap of 10 years beginning from 1955. In other words we had three movies by the same name, viz Faraar (1955), Faraar (1965) and Faraar (1975). In this blog, I have posted songs from all these movies.

Nargis and Raj Kapoor had worked together in 14 movies in all. One of the lesser known movies where they worked together is called “Pyaar” (1950). This movie may be lesser known, but it is a trivia buff’s delight. For instance, this is the only movie where Kishore Kumar gave playback for Raj Kapoor.

This is one song that must be as rare a song as they come. Listen to this song and try to judge the people involved in the creation of the song. It is easy to notice that the song is picturised on Dhumal and Tuntun who emerge out of the church after getting married and then immediately burst into this comic song. The song is sung by Rafi and Geeta Dutt.
