‘Habari’ (1978) was produced by Thakur Hitkaran Singh and was directed by Sher Jung Singh. The cast included Mahendra Sandhu, Preeti Sapru, Narendranath, D K Sapru, Raju Desai, Prakash Gill, Salima Din, Ajit Singh Deol, Mohan Baggad, Gurubachan Singh etc. Mithun Chakraborty worked in the film in a small role as villain’s henchman but was not credited. Director, Sher Jung Singh is the brother-in-law of Dharmendra, his sister being married to him. Actor, Ajit Singh Deol is the younger brother of Dharmendra.
The film’s title, ‘Habari’ appears to have been drawn from Swahili language which is the national language of Kenya. ‘Habari’ is a colloquial way of greetings in Kenya which means ‘how are the things’? or ‘how is the life’?. Since the outdoor shooting was done majorly in the National Parks of Kenya, probably, the producer/director thought of giving this title.

“Habari” (1978) was produced by Hitkarn Singh and directed by Sher Jung Singh for Pix International. The movie had Mahendra Sandhu, Preeti Sapru, Narender Nath, Sapru, Raju Desai, Prakash Gill, Kanwar Ajeet, Salima Din, Fiza-ul-Haq, Gurbachan Singh, Dileep Desai, Laila, P. S. Chaggar, Ramlal, Baburao, Baggar, Subhash, Gurmit, Jay Singh etc in it.
