Some of you would be surprised to see a ‘Sahir’ related post here today again, because we celebrated Sahir yesterday on his ‘Remembrance Day’ and paid our tributes.
But today’s day is also important for us. It the birthday of one of the founding members of this blog and our beloved Raja Saab. So here is wishing Raja Saab a very happy birthday and ‘many many happy returns of the day’ and ‘healthy, peaceful and ‘full of music- life’ ahead.

Yesterday I visited the page again on the song ‘Tum Apna Ranj o Gham, Apni Pareshaani Mujhe De Do‘. I know the words are ‘badi shai hai agar‘, on which there is the long thread of comments. ‘Shai’, in common urdu is a thing or an object. ‘badi shai hai ‘ literally means , its a big thing or a big deal. As it is said in English that ‘its a big deal for me’ or means a lot to me.

“Roohi” (1981) is an obscure movie despite being a recent movie by the standards of this movie. It was produced by Navin Kapur and M G Sarna and directed by S U Saiyed under the banner of Traditional Films. The movie had Zarina Wahab, Mukesh Khanna, Mazhar Khan, Meena Rai, Asha Sachdev, Sudhir Dalvi, Mushtaq Merchant, Uma Dhawan, Vivek Swaroop, Rakesh Bansal, Shaukat Saiyed, Harjinder, Girija Shankar, Prithvi Soni etc, with Heena Kausar in a Guest Appearance and Introducing Akbar Asif.
