The 1965 film ‘Johar Mehmood in Goa’ is a veritable treasure house of wonderful songs and music. A popular hit in its own time, this film still continues to be known for the songs. Today (29 september) is the birth anniversary of Mehmood Ali Khan, known to movie watchers simply as Mehmood. Mehmood (29 September 1932 – 23 July 2004) made his debut in Hindi movies as a child actor in 1940s and then graduated as a grown up actor in 1950s. He became a comedian who commanded his own CSP (Comic side plot) in Hindi movies of 1950s and 1960s.
