The film was made by Homi Wadia for his own banner Basant Pictures, Bombay. It was directed by “The Trick Scene Specialist” Babubhai Mistry and the music was by the melody Master Chitragupta Shrivastav.

Today 24th December 2018 is the ninety-fourth (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) birth anniversary of the ‘divine voice’ Mohammad Rafi Saab.

24th December also happens to be the birth anniversary actor Mahipal (24 December 1919 – 15 May 2005).
I have very deep respect and great admiration for both of them in my heart and it will be until we are associated with Hindi Films and Hindi Film Music.

The system of borrowed voice (i.e., playback singing) for actors started sometime in 1934 and playback singing was firmly in place in the Hindi film industry by the end of 1940. However, in the 40s, there were some prominent actor-singers Like K L Saigal, Noor Jahan, Suraiya, Shanta Apte, Kanan Devi etc. who continued to sing for themselves. Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, Talat Mehmood, Sulkashana Pandit etc who started as playback singers also sang for themselves whenever they acted in some films. GM Durrani who started his filmy career as an actor in the 30s switched over to playback singing and he became one of the most sought after male playback singer in 1940s. All these actor-singers/singer-actors had good voices and therefore one would normally expect them to sing for themselves while acting in films. However, there are cases where a few of such artists had to borrow voices of other playback singers.

Raas Garba, Ganesh Utsav, Diwali celebrations and Indian Calendar New Year days in respective regions are no more a matter of Religion by now. They have become the cultural heritage of the country. A good example is Holi or lighting done on Deepavali or touching the feet of the elders…all these constitute Culture, though its roots are traceable to religion.
