Today 8th September’2024 is the 91st birth anniversary (born on 08.09.1933) of legendary singer Asha Bhonsle.
It is customary for us on this blog that we post songs related to the celebrity on the day and discuss about their filmography or biography. Today’s celebrity singer Asha Bhonsle is already a living legend and there is nothing new left for me to add as far as her biography or filmography is concerned. In this post I am presenting a song from the ‘1979’ movie ‘Ratnadeep’. Lyrics for the songs in this movie were written by Gulzar Saab.
‘Ratnadeep-1979’ was directed by Basu Chatterjee for ‘Gayatri Movies, Bombay’. It was produced by R. Kannan and R. Jagannath. This movie has Hema Malini, Girish Karnad, Dheeraj, A.K. Hangal, Sulochana, Prema Narayan, Nandita Thakur, Yunus Parvez, Pinchoo Kapoor, Master Sagar, Poornima Jairam, R.S. Chopra, Gautam Sareen, Amal Sen, Aroop, Manmauji, Ranjeet Sood, Chandu, Vishnu Sharma, Mohammad Ali, Khoka Mukherjee, Kashinath and others. Basu Chatterjee who was director of this movie also wrote the screenplay and dialogues of this movie. This movie was based on short story by Prabhat Kumar Mukhopadhyay. “Ratnadeep-1979” was passed by Censor Board on 12.12.1979.
