In the morning today (21st october 2011), I became aware that today was the birthday of Shammi Kapoor. But today was also the day when time was at a premium for me. I managed to post two songs in the morning before getting busy for the rest of the day.

“Aatmaram” (1979) is a recent movie bty the standards of this blog, but this movie is nearly as obscure as many movies of much older vintage. The reasons are not far to seek. The movie was a smaller budget movie with actors like Shatrughan Sinha, Vidya Sinha,Bindiya Goswami,Amjad Khan etc in it. The movie was directed by Sohanlal Kanwar and the movie sank without a trace.

“Jahaan Pyaar Miley” (1969) is a movie that I knew from my younger days only because of its title song(Chale jaa chale jaa chale jaa jahan pyaa miley ) which was sung by Suman Kalyanpur. Apart from that song, I had little idea about the movie.

I am aware of a movie called “Aan Baan” (1956), but it turns out that there was another movie of the same name in 1972 as well. I am surprised that I should know about the 1956 movie of this name , but be totally oblivious of the 1972 movie of this name.
