Gulzar and R D Burman came together for the first time in “Parichay” (1972) and even since, they worked together in many movies till “Masoom” (1983) and gave us some memorable songs. One such movie, where they collaborated together was “Ghar” (1978).
“Ghar” was a movie that turned out to be a landmark movie for Rekha. Her career was almost coming to an end, when this movie came to her. The success of this movie transformed Reakha from an immature teenager to a profession actress and she never looked back since.
The songs of this movie were a big reason, aprat from the sensitive story line. The songs just tug at the heart strings of the listeners. And once the listener watches the picturisation, the effect is enhanced many folds. It was that kind of a movie.
Gulzar’s lyrics, R D Burman’s music and Lata’s voice is a heady concoction and this song is one that can b listened to time and again. And as I mentioned, the picturisation, showing Rakha and Vinod Mehra as a happily married couple is very sweet as well.

What a composition. I like every single song in this movie and the way each of them have been picturised, there is something very natural and realistic about the songs and the way they are picturised.
