Turururu turururu tera mera pyaar shuru

I have posted a variety of songs in this blog. some are evergreen, some are not so evergreen but still nice songs to listen to. Then I have posted songs which are not just evergreen but which have attained cult status which I call iconic songs.
There is one variety of songs which can be described as great songs that have been forgotten. These were songs that were very popular in their days. while some songs went on to become evergreen, other were forgotten with time. In many such cases, I was just familiar with the song, and I was not aware of other details.
I have been stumbling upon many such songs on a regular basis and getting reacquaited with these songs is a very rewarding experience, because this time I manage to find details about these songs, and I manage to find the video of the song as well. Being able to watch the picturisation of there songs which were my childhood favourites is a great experince.
Here is one such song. This song “turu ru ru tu ru ru ru, teraa meraa meraa pyaar shuru” was a very popular song of my younger days. Its lyrics were so interesting. Kids like me loved listening to these songs rather than songs containing heavy duty words.
Imagine my pleasure when I recently came across the video of this song. Now I realise that this song is from “Jwaar Bhaata” (1973) which in fact had some interesting songs. I have already posted one such song from this movie that went “daal roti khaao Prabhu ke gun gaao”.
This song “tu ru ru ru” is sung so brilliantly by Kishore Kumar. It is a timepass song picturised on Dharmendra and Saira Bano. Dharmendra (with two left feet and all) as well as Saira Bano dance with gusto in this song.
Rajinder Krishan, who has written so many serious songs in his career, is the lyricist of this cute lighthearted fun song. And the music directors Laxmikant Pyarelal enjoyed composing music for such songs.
It is a great fun song. And in my book, it deserves to be regarded as a classic.
I have chosen this song to be the 1400 th song of this blog. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the 1400th song of this blog. and like always, let me thank all those whose visits, comments, e mails, encouragements etc has kept me going.
The last 100 songs have come up in 16 days, and I have maintained this rate of posting songs for last several centuries of songs. I regard this century as special because these last 100 songs contain lots of rare, yet great songs.
I hope that I will be able to continue this labour of love for a long time to come.
Once again, I thank you all for your encouragement which keeps this blog ticking.

tu ru ru tu ru ru tu ru ru
tu ru ru tu ru ru tu ru ru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru

sar-e-baazaar shuru, huaa mazedaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
ho mohabbat kaa matlab hai kyaa
kal tak ye jaanaa naa thaa
ho dil ne kisi ko kabhi
apnaa to maanaa naa thaa
ho nainon se nain mile, nayaa sansaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
ho ji chaahtaa hai meraa
ab chal ke rahen ham wahaan
ho jhuk-jhuk ke miltaa jahaan
is zameen se gale aasmaan
haan kar lenge wahaan koyi
nayaa kaarobaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
ho patli patang si kudi
ho hatth mere lag gayi ye
ho kothadi aneri de vich
ik laalten jag payi ye
o garmaa garam huaa
pyaar lachchhedaar shuru
aha tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
ab zaraa tuu bhi ho jaa, ho jaa yaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru
tu ru ru ru, tu ru ru ru
teraa meraa pyaar shuru

I had seen this song on Chitrahaar as a kid, and heard it later on MusicIndiaOnline.com. I would provide the link, but that site is corrupted now…you dont want virus on your machine.. 🙂
I had heard my mom singing along when this song was playing on TV, but that was the first time I had ever heard of this song. I was surprised that it was famous at it’s time period.
