toone haan haan toone …hone lagi dil me tik tik tik tik

I have heard this song earlier but that was without paying much attention to it, and without knowing any details of this song.
It was only recently that I became aware that this song was from “Hamjoli” (1970). This is a cabarat song. Now one expects a cabarat song to be sung by Asha Bhonsle and picturised on Helen. But that is not the case in this song. Lata sings this song and it is picturised on Mumtaz. And both Lata and Mumtaz give Asha Bhonsle and Helen a run for their money as far as singing and dancing in a cabarat song is concerned.
This song in fact is a duet. Rafi sings with Lata and Jeetendra joins Mumtaz in the dance floor.
This song is written by Anand Bakshi and music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The song is not an easy song to sing, and bth Lata and Rafi have sung this song wonderfully well.
This is one song that will cheer up the listeners and watchers of this song. So here is this wonderful song from “Hamjoli” (1970)

tik tik tik dil se dil bole
tik tik tik mera dil dole
tik tik tik dil se dil bole
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
jaane mujhe aise dekha toone kaise
ke hone lagi ji me tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
jaane mujhe aise dekha toone kaise
ke hone lagi ji me tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik
aa aa haa
aa aa haa
ho ho ho ho
o aa aa haha
ho ho ho ho ho
kisne mere dil ko churaayaa
lalalalalalalala
chupke chupke khwaabon me aaya
kuch nishaani
wo haseen thaa kaun tha wo
main nahin tha
lekin mere hothon pe naam hai tera
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
jaane mujhe aise dekha toone kaise
ke hone lagi ji me tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik
kisne dil ki baaten sunaayin
lalalalalalala
chori chori aankhen milaayin
kuch nishaani
wo haseen thi kaun thi wo
kaun thi wo
main nahin thi
lekin ho na ho ye to kaam hai teraa
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
jaane mujhe aise dekha toone kaise
ke hone lagi ji me tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik
kar le chaahe koi bahaana
lalalalalalalala
tu hi to hai mera deewaana
kuch nishaani
toone meri neend looti
tu hai jhoothi
lekin badnaam badaa hi naam hai tera
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
toone haan haan toone toone toone o sanam
jaane mujhe aise dekha toone kaise
ke hone lagi ji me tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik

I was not aware of the details of this song till a few days back. It is an awesome song. Lots of effort must have gone in creating this song.

Have heard this song before, even seen the movie but never really paid attention to this song.
This time I watched it from beginning to end. Quite a nice, catchy song.
I just cannot bear to see Leena crying though.
Breaks my heart. What a softie I am. 🙂

If you noticed carefully, Jeetendra too wipes a tear or two from his eyes at the thought, before jumping out from behind the curtains to join Mumtaz.
by the way, how does Mumtaz figure in this movie ? I thought it was just Leena Chandawarkar in this movie.
