I have not watched the movie “Tum Haseen Main Jawaan” (1970) but going by the songs of this movie, I think this movie was one whose story was quite over the top.
In this movie, Dharmendra comes across an abandoned baby and then he tries to bring up the baby. Here in this song, he tries to convince Hema Malini to “adopt” the baby. I have this habit of thinking logically and rationally which is always a handicap when it comes to enjoying Bollywood movies like this. How can an unmarried Indian girl be made to adopt a small baby as if it is her own ? It is not as simple as this movie would like people to believe. Ground realities are far too harsh.
In the traditions of a Bollywood movie song, Hema Malini would have none of it for much of the song but falls in line in the last stanza of the song. Personally I am not convinced that one can get convinced just like that.
The song is sung by Rafi and Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Shankar Jaikishan composed the music.
