We are used to seeing Nirupa Roy playing roles of mother and Balraj Sahni playing the roles of father in movies. But believe it or not, they too were young once upon a time and they too used to play lead roles in movies.

This movie “Do Roti” (1957) is a case in point. In this movie, Balraj Sahni and Nirupa Roy were pair together in lead roles. Here is a songs from this movie that is picturised on both. The song itself is a solo song sung by Lata. Khumar Barabankwi is the lyricist and Roshan composed the music. And I cannot help but feel that the music in this song is so reminiscent of Chitragupta’s style of music.
