The initial line of this song may make people think of the title song from “Geet” (1970) which has similar words, and indeed one will come across that song on google search with these lyrics, but the song under discussion is an entirely different song and this song was created five years earlier than “Geet” (1970).

Kankariyaa maare karke ishaare

I have barely heard the name of this movie called “Menhdi Lagi Mere Haath”(1962). I plead not guilty for being unaware of this movie. My defence is that this movie had Shashi Kapoor and Nanda in lead roles and that is a strong enough reason for a normal movie to end up as an obscure movie.

I always get myself confused between “Aandhi” and “Mausam”. Both these movies were released in 1975 and both these movies had Sanjeev Kumar as the hero. And both these movies were music lovers’ delight. But the fact remains that the two movies were different movies, with different heroines, different music directors etc.
