Yoon hi ulfat ke maaron par ye duniya zulm karti hai

Posted on: December 16, 2010

“Alladin And The Wonderful Lamp” (1952) was a fantasy movie based on the well known Arabian nights tale. This Wadia movietone movie had Mahipal and Meena Kumari in lead roles.

I have discussed a song from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie. It is sung by Shamshad Begam and Rafi and it is picturised on Meena Kumari and Mahipal. I am not sure who the lyricist is, so provisionally I have attributed the lyrics of this song to Ramesh Pandey, who was the lyricist of the other song from this movie that I have discussed in the past.

This movie had S N Tripathi and Chitragupta as its music directors. By most indications, S N Tripathi is the music director of this song.

Song-Yoon hi ulfat ke maaron par ye duniya zulm karti hai (Alladin And The Wonderful Lamp) (1952) Singers-Shamshad Begam, Rafi, Lyrics-Ramesh Pandey, MD-S N Tripathi

Lyrics

bataa dil ke kafas mein kyun
jawaani ghut ke marti hai

yoon hi ulfat ke maaron par
ye duniya zulm karti hai
yoon hi ulfat ke maaron par
ye duniya zulm karti hai

zaraa si jaan hai lekin
yahaan qaatil hazaaron hain
yahaan qaatil hazaaron hain
zaraa si jaan hai lekin
yahaan qaatil hazaaron hain
yahaan qaatil hazaaron hain
koi bedard kyaa jaane
ke ham pe kyaa guzarti hai
yoon hi ulfat ke maaron par
ye duniya zulm karti hai

mohabbat mein museebat hai
ye Kudrat ki haqeeqat hai
ye Kudrat ki haqeeqat hai
mohabbat mein museebat hai
ye Kudrat ki haqeeqat hai
ye Kudrat ki haqeeqat hai
jahaan paani barastaa hai
wahaan bijli bhi girti hai
yoon hi ulfat ke maaron par
ye duniya zulm karti hai

khadi patthar ke deewaaron
mere ashqon se mat khelo
mere ashqon se mat khelo
falak bhi doob jaataa hai
ghataa jab aa ke ghirti hai
yoon hi ulfat ke maaron par
ye duniya zulm karti hai

badaa zaalim zamaana hai
sataa le jitnaa jee chaahe
sataa le jitnaa jee chaahe
badaa zaalim zamaana hai
sataa le jitnaa jee chaahe
sataa le jitnaa jee chaahe
kisi ki kuchh nahin chalti
ke jab kismat badalti hai
yoon hi ulfat ke maaron par
ye duniya zulm karti hai

ye duniya zulma karti hai
ye duniya zulma karti hai
ye duniya zulma karti hai

Atul ji,

As per the original HMV label for this movie, the lyricist for this song is indeed Ramesh Chandra Pandey. Interestingly, 3 other lyricists, viz. Pandit Chand, Anjum Jaipuri and Shyam Hindi, are also listed. As per the label, Ramesh Chandra Pandey is listed as the lyricist for only this song in this movie.

SN Tripathi has the credit for musical score. Chitragupt is not identified for music. Very interestingly though, Chitragupt is listed as one of the voices in another song of this movie. 🙂

Thanks for the information. If Ramesh Pandey wrote only this song in this movie then who is the lyricist of the other song ( Sharma ke zaraa ae mast nazar ( Alladin and the wonderful lamp) ) that I have discussed earlier ?
