There may be more Hindi movies called “Laila Majnu” than one can count, but the two main movies of this title that I can readily recall are the ones that came in 1953 and 1976. The 1953 movie had Nutan and Shammi Kapoor playing the legendary lovers while the same roles wre enacted by Ranjeeta and Shammi Kapoor’s nephew Rishi Kapoor , respectively.
I have discussed four songs from “Laila Majnu” (1953) so far. Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised on Nutan. The video clip is badly mutilated and lacks several portions, so I have also included an audio link that is complete.
This song is written by Shakeel Badayuni and its music is composed by Ghulam Mohammad.
