“‘Ameer” (1954) is such a rare and obscure movie that if one tries to search for this movie on search engines, one gets “Amar” (1954) instead. And needless to say, no information is available on this movie on internet.
When I discussed a rare song from this movie, I sought information about this movie from our knowledgeable readers. Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh provided some great and invaluable information about this movie which is now the most comprehensive information available about this movie. he wrote:
AMEER(1954) was a Chandu studios ltd. film,produced and directed by Chandu.
This Chandu was a noted cinematographer,who did cinematography in various films like,Sindoor-47, Veer Kunal-45, Kashmir-51,Private secretary-62 in individual capacity.
He established his own Chandu Studios Ltd.selling shares also and produced the only film Ameer in 1954, which not only flopped but he had to sell his studio and other assets and also face legal cases. What happened to him after he completed Private secretary in1962,nobody knows.
AMEER cast was Geeta Bali,Kamal Kapoor as the lead pair and also Tiwari,Manju,Patanjal, Basant Rao, Vasantrao Pehelwan etc.
The musical score was by Pt.Lachchiram and lyrics were by Asad Bhopali,Udhav Kumar and P.L.Santoshi.
Here is another rare song from “Ameer” (1954). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Asad Bhopali is the lyricist. Music is composed by Pt Lachchiram.
Only the audio of this song is available. seeing that Asha Bhonsle has sung several songs in this movie, it appears that so many songs sung by a singer could only be picturised on the leading lady. And the leading lady of this movie happens to be Geeta Bali. So it follows that this song is picturised on Geeta Bali. It is a very roundabout way of making a guess, but I suppose this is the best guess one can make about the picturisation of this song.

Geeta Bali and Kamal Kapoor would have been an interesting lead pair!! Wish a copy of this film would surface…

Even the audio of songs are too rare. I am sure that the makers of this movie fell so much on hard times that preserving this movie was the last thing in their minds.
