“Pyaar Ka Mausam” (1969) is a movie which was released during my pre teen years. I never saw the movie because my elders were of the type who rationalised that movies was bad for kids. And as a result I spent much of my childhood deprived of Hindi movies.

“Baharon Ke Sapne” (1967) was one of the first movies of Rajesh Khanna ant it was released in 1967, which was the debut year for Rajesh Khanna. In this movie he was paired opposite Asha Parekh, with whom he would go on to act in quite a few other movies as well.

“Benazir” (1964) appaers to be an A grade movie what with the likes of Ashok Kumar, Meena Kumari, Shashi Kapoor,Tanuja etc in it and the movie being directed by Bimal Roy. But despite such big names, I have not been aware of this movie. And only recently I have become aware of a song from this song.

“Sharaabi” (1964) is a movie that had some great songs in it, but the movie itself turned out to be a damp squib and the songs of this movie suffered as a result. With time, the songs of ‘Sharaabi” (1964) have lived on, but these songs would have done much better during its earlier days, had the movie fared better at the box office.

“Bhaabhi Ki Choodiyaan” (1961) is a movie that, for most people, is associated with the immortal song Jyoti kalash chhalke. This song, written in chaste Sanskritised Hindi is so soothing to the mind that one can listen to this song every morning. And indeed there are readers of this blog who do just that every morning.

I have discussed as many as four songs from “Adaalat” (1958) and I was surprised to receive the lyrics of this song from Prakashchandra. When I checked up, I found that this well known song from “Adaalat” (1958) was actually missing from the blog.

Searching for unknown songs from B grade movies is almost always a highly rewarding experience. I always discover some amazing gems ervery time I indertake this exercise.
