The innovator in Pankaj Babu has been responsible for some very remarkable additions to the sound and music aspect of the film industry. He was probably the first music arranger and orchestra conductor to introduce the use of western musical forms and instruments in the music for films in India. He is credited with introducing the use of instruments like piano and accordion, in the music compositions for Hindi and Bengali films that he worked on.

Atul is aware that this particular cabaret song and dance is one of my favorites, performed by the very lithe and graceful Faryal. It contains most of the peculiarly Indian cabaret traits that make me love them so: male background dancers, a fake Sheikh or two, a Boss lurking in silhouette, and a lively band clad in frilly outfits. The 1967 film, ‘Woh Koi Aur Hoga’, is a production under the banner of Amrit Kala Mandir, and is directed by A Shamsheer. The films is an action drama with a star cast that includes Feroze Khan, Mumtaz, Sohrab Modi, Dhumal, Asit Sen, Meenakshi and Sham Kumar. The primary singing voice is that of Mohammed Rafi, with interleaved expression of annoyance and exasperation by Mumtaz. The lyrics are by Asad Bhopali, and the music is composed by Usha Khanna.

“Dulhan Ek Raat Ki” (1966) is a Taxila production movie which was directed by D D Kashyap. This movie was supposedly based on a Thomas Hardy novel (according to imdb). The star cast of the movie has names like Dharmendra, Nutan, Rehman, Leela Chitnis, Niranjan Sharma, Kanhaiyalal, Tabassum, Mumtaz Begum, Johnny Walker etc.
