Kahaan tak ye man ko andhere chhalengey

Posted on: October 13, 2011

“Baaton Baaton Mein” (1979) is a movie that was not about superhuman characters, but about average day to day characters like you and me. And the depiction of their hopes, aspirations, joys, sorrows and other feelings of the characters were so natural and one could empathise with them. And when these feelings are expressed in the form of songs which are written with heart, composed with sensitivity and sung with feeling, that such songs are bound to be remembered and recalled.

Here is a superb song from “Baaton Baaton Mein” (1979). During those days when this movie was released, I did not much care about movies like this, as I was more into the mainstream movies which showed more action that emotions, but now, when I look back into that era, it is songs like this that I want to remember that era for, rather than for the action stuff.

On the occasion of Kishore Kumar’s death anniversary (13th october), here is this wonderful song from “Baaton Baaton Mein” (1979). Yogesh is the lyricist and the Rajesh Roshan is the composer of this soft music. Kishore Kumar’s voice expressed the feelings of the character (played by Amol Palekar) so eloquently and adds additional dimensions to the song way beyond his brief. Wonderful stuff indeed.

The lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Song-Kahaan tak ye man ko andhere chhalenge (Baaton Baaton Mein) (1979) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Yogesh, MD-Rajesh Roshan

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

Kahaan tak ye man ko andhere chhalenge
udaasi bhare din kabhi tho dhalenge
kahan tak ye man ko andhere chhalenge
udaasi bhare din kabhi to dhalenge

kabhi sukh kabhi dukh
yehi zindagi hai
ye pathjhad ka mausam
ghadi do ghadi hai
ye pathjhad ka mausam
ghadi do ghadi hai
naye phool kal phir, dagar mein khilenge
udaasi bhare din kabhi to dhalenge

bhale tez kitnaa hawaa ka ho jhonkaa
magar apne man mein, tu rakhh ye bharosa
magar apne man mein, tu rakhh ye bharosa
jo bichde safar mein, tujhe phir milenge
udaasi bhare din, kabhi to dhalenge

kahe koyee kuchh bhi
magar sach yehi hai
lehar pyaar ki jo kahin uthh rahee hai
lehar pyaar ki jo kahin uthh rahee hai
usse ek din to, kinaare milenge
udaasi bhare din kabhi to dhalenge
kahaan tak ye man ko andhere chhalenge
udaasi bhare din kabhi to dhalenge

Wow! I’m listening to this song after SO many years! I saw this movie ages ago and must have last heard this song then. After that somehow it just went off my radar. And I’m SO happy to hear it today. It is such a beautiful song. Kishore da’s voice is just SO fantastic here.

Thanks so much for posting this today.
