Here is another song of the genre “how come this song was not posted earlier”. 🙂 And like always, my excuse is the same. I thought this song was already discussed but I was wrong.
It was not this song, but another great song from the movie, viz Aayega aanewaala aayega, which was discussed in the blog. In fact, as many as three great songs from this movie have been discussed in the past from “Mahal” (1949), which was one of the earliest suspense “bhootiya” (ghost) movie, as that is how less sophisticated movie watchers like me describe such movies.
In these movies, a mysterious white sari clad lady, whose face would he hidden, would sing a song. But this song is different. Here, the lady is clad in a dark colour sari, her face is clearly visible and she is none other than a very young and pretty Madhubala. The movie makers may have rightly decided that not showing her face was a criminal waste of expensive movie reels. 🙂
This song is superb in all counts, be it the picturisation or the audio. The song is sung by Lata. Nakshab is the lyricist and music is composed by Khemchand Prakash. Lyrics of this song were sent to me by two contributors (Atif M and nahm)independentally.
