Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Tere bina o sajna

Posted on: October 12, 2012

“Majboor” (1964) was a De Luxe Films production. It was directed by Narendra Suri. The movie had Biswajeet, Waheeda Rehman, Lalita Pawar, Rajendranath, Suresh, Sabita Chatterjee, Ram Avtaar, Sapru, Jagdev, Gyani etc in it.

I have discussed three songs from this movie in the past. Here is the fourth song from the movie.

This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Waheeda Rehman who is missing Biswajeet, who finds himself in police lockup. I notice that Waheeda Rehman has a palatial house in which she can feel the separation with all material comforts. 🙂 For that matter even Biswajeet’s cell appears quite spacious to me. 🙂

Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.

Song-Tere bina o sajna (Majboor)(1964) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)

tere bina o sajna
tere bina o sajna
tere bina o sajna
tere bina o sajna
diye ki jagah mera man
jalaa mere angna
tere bina o sajna
tere bina o sajna

jalti rahi main
aen
jalti rahi main
andhiyaari raaton mein
phir bhi ujaale
ae
phir bhi ujaale
nahin aaye aankhon mein
apne naseeb par hai
kya zor apna aa aa
tere bina o sajna
tere bina o sajna
diye ki jagah mera man
jalaa mere angna aa aa
tere bina o sajna
tere bina o sajna

duniya hamaari
ee
duniya hamaari
sapnon ki nagri thhi
thhokar se phhooti
ee
thhokar se phhooti
maati ki gagri thhi
ye dosh kismat ka thha
mere naam lagna aa aa
tere bina o sajna
tere bina o sajna
diye ki jagah mera man
jalaa mere angna aa aa
tere bina o sajna
tere bina o sajna

Khyatiben,
This is my type of song. Thanks

I think the line should be “DEEYE ki jagahaa mera mann, jalaa mere angnaa”

not “DIL ki jagahaa meraa mann, jalaa mere anganaa”

Like

Yes, it definitely sounds like “diye ki jagah”.

Written lyrics were not available in many sites I browsed through and it was not clear from audio/video links too.I also feel it is -Diye ki jagah.

Yes, now that I listened to it again, it is “dil ki jagah”. I have corrected the lyrics accordingly.
