Kaahe ko byaahi bides

on:“Nadirshah”(1968) was an Amarjeet Production movie. It was directed by S N Tripathi. The movie had Sheikh Mukhtar, Feroz Khan, Naaz, Minoo Mumtaz, Hiralal, P Kailash, Murad etc in it.
If the credits appearing on the movie are to be believed then all the songs of this movie were sung by just three singers, viz. Rafi, Suman Kalyanpur and Asha Bhonsle. But one notices that there have been several other singers in the movie in addition to the abovementioned three singers. Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past and these songs contain the voices of Lata and Mahendra Kapoor as well.
Here is the fifth song from “Nadirshah” (1968). This song is a bidaai song. It is sung by Suman Kalyanpur and her sister Shyama Hemmadi. Yes, that means Shyama Hemmadi is yet another singer who goes uncredited in the titles of this movie.
Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by S N Tripathi.
The picturisation shows Naaz as the bridegroom and her sahelis sing this song while tending to her.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

haaye angna bhaya bides
ho o
le baabul ghar aapna
ham chalen piya ke des
kaahe ko byaahi bides ho
lakhi baabul morey
kaahe ko byaahi bides
ham to baabul tohre
angna ki chidiyaan
chug chug kar ud jaayen re
ham to baabul tohre mote (?) ki gaiyya
jidhar haanke hank jaayen re
sun baabul morey
kaahe ko byaahi bides ho
lakhi baabul morey
kaahe ko byaahi bides
jholi bhar maine gudiya chhodi
chhoda sab har saath re
bhaiyya ko jeena mehel do mehle
hamko bideshwa haath re
sun baabul morey
kaahe ko byaahi bides ho
lakhi baabul morey
kaahe ko byaahi bides
jug jug jeewe bhaiyya more
yehi meri ardaas re
des bides bhatak re baabul
pher milan ki aas re
sun baabul morey
kaahe ko byaahi bides ho
lakhi baabul morey
kaahe ko byaahi bides

A different version of this bidaai song with four para was there in Umraao Jaan-81, sung by Jagjit Kaur, composed by Khaiyyam Saab. Two paras of this version almost matches with two of the Nadirshah’s. My question/confusion is that the credit as a lyricist of this song in UJ is given to Amir Khusro (myswar, hindigeetmala), if you check at 2:56 on the video clip that I have attached, the name Shahryak appears as a lyricist, while the CD that I have has written Traditional in the lyricist category. The song in Nadirshah is written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. Arunji, Nahmji, Sudhirji, can you or someone else can clarify this confusion, please? Thanks.
BTW, the movie UJ has only two para of the song, but my CD has all four. I could not find the audio/video with all four stanzas on YT. Sorry about that.

With reference to Madam Khyati Bhatt’s query, this song is obviously written by Amir Khusro. Such traditional songs often got credited to the films lyricist, primarily because of a casual attitude in such matters. Often the rationalisation was that the lyricist might have made some minor additions. For example, Mohe panghat pe Nandlal hed gayo re predates Shakeel Badayuni by several years, You would find many singers have sung this thumri as back as 1930s and 40s when Shakeel badayuni was nowhere around. These are vailable on YT. But many sources would credit it to him. Even this site shows his name as the lyricist.
