raat baaqi
baat baaqi
hona hai jo
ho jaane do
raat baaqi
baat baaqi
hona hai jo
ho jaane do
socho na
dekho to
dekho haan
jaan e jaan
mujhe pyaar se
socho na
dekho to
dekho haan
jaan e jaan
mujhe pyaar se ae
raat baaqi
baat baaqi
hona hai jo o
ho jaane do o
laaalaaa
lalalaaaa
lalaalalaaa
lalaalalaaa
kashti jawaan dil ki toofaan se takra gayi
manzil mohabbat ki ab to kareeb aa gayi
kashti jawaan dil ki toofaan se takra gayi
manzil mohabbat ki ab to kareeb aa gayi
aa dekh le
hai kya mazaa
dil haar ke ae
raat baaqi
baat baaqi
hona hai jo o
ho jaane do
socho na
dekho to
dekho haan
jaan e jaan
mujhe pyaar se ae
he ae ae
hohohoho
aahaa haa
he he he he he
aaghaaz ye hai to anjaam hoga haseen
deewaane parwaane marne se darte nahin
aaghaaz ye hai to anjaam hoga haseen
deewaane parwaane marne se darte nahin
aa dilruba
khul ke zara
mil yaar se ae
raat baaqi
baat baaqi
hona hai jo
ho jaane do
socho na
dekho to
dekho haan
jaan e jaan
mujhe pyar se ae haa
socho na
dekho to
dekho haan
jaan e jaan mujhe pyaar se ae
raat baaqi
lalalala
baat baaqi
hmm hmm
hona hai jo
ho jaane do o

I was equally surprised. Before disclaiming the song, I thought I’d better reconfirm. I put Namak Halal in my mail search and there you are: it was sent along with the series named songs of Anjaan(from start to end). Not that i do not like newer songs(in fact I had danced with this number in one party) but I dare say I prefer old and unpopular songs(off the beaten track hattke songs).
In a movie there are an average say 8 songs. 4 will become popular; 4 will remain forgotten. I root for the latter four. For instance when I tell ae muhobat meri duniya me tera kaam na thhaa is from Bees Saal Baad people are often surprised. Thats the beauty of the whole thing.

Now this comes to me as a pleasant surprise. From the title of the post, my guess was right that it is from Namakhalal, but when i saw the lyrics by tag, i thuoght it was a ‘raat baaqi’ from some old film. then i read the post to check if it was anybody’s anniversary etc. but there was no such special occassion.then i had to believe that ye gaana Shah Saheb ne bheja hai …!!! 🙂
