“Pagle” (1950) was directed by Protima Dasgupta for Mercury Production. The movie had Gajanan Jaageerdaar, Begam Para, Cuckoo, Pratima Devi, Mubarak, David Abraham, Madhuri, Agha etc in it.

Here is a song from the movie. The song is sung by Rajkumari. Music is composed by Shehal Bhatkar.

This movie had three lyricists, viz. Behzad Lucknowi, Kaabil Amritsari and Anjum Rehmani, but it is not clear which artist wrote which song in the movie.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

PS-It is pointed out by Mr Sadanand Kamath that Kaabil Amritsari is the lyricist of this song.

Song-Ae chaand mohabbat roti hai (Pagle)(1950) Singer-Rajkumari, Lyrics-Kaabil Amritsari, MD-Snehal Bhatkar

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

ae chaand muhabbat roti hai
ae chaand muhabbat roti hai
ab chaandni raaton ko le ja
ab chaandani raaton ko le ja
ae chaand mohabbat roti hai
ae chaand mohabbat roti hai

jo dil mein hamaare basta hai
jo dil mein hamaare basta hai
dil unko duaayen deta hai
dil unko duaayen deta hai
duniya ka bhala ho jisne hamen
duniya ka bhala ho jisne hamen
naashad kiya
barbaad kiya
aa aa
ae chaand mohabbat roti hai
ae chaand mohabbat roti hai
ab chaandni raaton ko le ja
ab chaandni raaton ko le ja
ae chand mohabbat roti hai
ae chand mohabbat roti hai

jab dil mein mohabbat basti thi
jab dil mein mohabbat basti thi
aankhon mein tamanna hansti thi
aankhon mein tamanna hansti thi
wo din guzre wo raat gayi
wo din guzre wo raat gayi
anjaam hamaara kya hoga
aa aa
aye chaand mohabbat roti hai
aye chaand mohabbat roti hai
ab chaandni raaton ko leja
ab chandni raaton ko leja
ae chaand mohabbat roti hai

ummeedon ne damm tod diya
ummeedon ne damm tod diya
taqdeer ne bhi munh mod liya
taqdeer ne bhi munh mod liya
ab jeena jeena kaun kare
ab jeena jeena kaun kare
marne ka sahaara bhi na raha aa aa
ae chand mohabbat roti hai
ae chaand mohabbat roti hai
