Mujhe Jeene Do (1963) was the second success in a row for actor Sunil Dutt’s production banner, Ajanta Arts. It was directed by Moni Bhattacharjee. This dacoit-drama stars Sunil Dutt, Waheeda Rehman, Nirupa Roy, Rajindranath, Mumtaz, Madhumati, Cuckoo etc.
The film shot in Chambal Velley ravines, under police protection in MP state, and Mohan Studios (Mumbai), highlights the acting talents of its star cast, Waheeda Rehman and Sunil Dutt, and indeed the music by musical genius Jaidev. Raag Maalikaa in Hindi Films – 4
=====================
Amar Samaadhi was due to some unknown reasons, an unreleased film of sixties, but this marvellous music composition is evergreen and does not need any labels for its supreme quality of music. It was produced under the banner of Atre Pictures and directed by Shahu Modak. Shyama and Shahu Modak were the leading team, but little is known about the other star cast. Vasant Desai composed music to the lyrics of Bharat Vyas. It seems that at least three songs were recorded, a Lata solo (Poonam ki chanderi raaton mein) a Lata Rafi duet (Aaj ke prabhaat ki paheli kiran) and this RaagaMaala.

This is the mukhda of the song from the film ‘Dedh Ishqiyaa’ (2014) which I partly heard for the first time during the promotion of the film on various TV channels in December 2013. I was very happy that in the era of Hindi film music where loud songs with high velocity instrumentation and the meaningless lyrics are the order of the day, this semi-classical song had also found a place in the scheme of things of the modern day movie makers.
