Considerable effort of musicians and music arrangers, besides the sound recordist, goes into the creation of any song that finally result in the song ending up becoming hummable for public at large. “Ghazab”(1951) was produced by Raja Fatehlal Shah and M Shakir Lucknowi and directed by A Karim for Chitraleela, Bombay. This stunt film had Bhagwan, baurao, Shanta Patel, Leela Gupte, Usha Shukla, Azeem Bhai, Sheikh, Ali, Maqbool, Jaani etc in it.

Though I am not very good in remembering dates (especially important dates, you know which ones 🙂 ), I often get saved by someone or the other. I would almost forget the birthday of my wife but for the fact that we have a daughter who can never forget birthdays and who never fails to remind me of such dates.

It is normal for people to express concern about “Bhrastaachaar” (corruption) in our society and country and it is also normal to believe that the society and country will be a better place if corruption is weeded out.
But what about the other point of view ? Suppose that corruption goes away and the society and the country turns over a new leaf overnight. Will we then have a nation of our dream ? Not quite. Absence of the deep rooted systems that are in existence in our lives will lead to utter chaos. 🙂 At least that is what this satirical song suggests. 🙂

People tend to promise themselves that they would turn a new leaf on the new year. So they begin with the right earnest on the new year day only to falter immediately afterwards. 🙂 My promise to myself on such occasions are similar to electoral promises made by candidates which must not be taken seriously by voters if they have learnt from past experiences. 🙂
