“Geet” (1944) was produced by A R Kardar and directed by S U Sunny. The movie had Chanda, Shahu Modak, Nirmala, Amir Ali, Shakir Ali, A Shah, Zahid Ali etc in it.
Three songs from this movie has been discussed in the past. Here is the fourth song from this movie to appear in the blog. This song, which was on the reverse side of another Nirmala Devi song (discussed yesterday) is also sung by Nirmala devi. Music is composed by Naushad.
The lyricist of this song is not known.
Since Nirmala devi acted in this movie, so it means that this song is picturised on herself.
Noting down the lyrics of such songs accurately requires indepth knowledge of language as well as Indian Culture (in this case knowledge about Lord Krishna). If someone decides to note down lyrics of this song without that kind of knowledge, then he/ she will come up with lyrics that will be horribly off the mark. If one searches, hopelessly incorrect lyrics of this song (mindlessly copied by most sites) is available online. I know where I may be going wrong in noting down the lyrics and I seek help, but these lyrics typers are not even aware of their ignorance.

It is surprising that she has sung the old songs in a weak and difussed voice while in her fag end of her career she sang in a clear and at times in shrill(her trade mark) voice. She became stronger as she grew older!!
