“Jeewan” (1944) was produced by A R Kardar and directed by M Sadiq. The movie had Mehtab, Badri Prasad, Anwar, Shyam Kumar, Misra, Sofia, Nirmala etc in it.

Six songs from this movie has been discussed in the past. Here is the seventh and final song from the movie. This song is a rare song. More importantly, it is a Deepaawali song and therefore I was saving this song to be discussed on the day of Deepaawali. Today (11 november 2015) happens to be Deepaawali and so here is this “Deepaawali” song from ‘Jeewan”(1944).

D N Madhok is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad. HFGK does not mention the singer. YT have people identifying this voice variously as Hamida Bano, Amirbai karnataki etc. Personally I feel that this song has the voice of Amirbai Karnataki and chorus.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

I have failed to get several words right in this song. My effort in noting down the lyrics leaves a lot to be desired. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks (lots of them) and suggest corrections (there are lots of them as well).

With this song, “Jeewan”(1944) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and prosperous Deepawali and new year. Have a happy and safe Deepaawali.

more ?? hain sabke paas
uthhaate jaao

aakhen nainon mein naina daal

Wo chamak chamak kar
Wo chamak chamak kar aayi charaagonwaali
charaagonwaali
more chhote garwaa(?) dole(?) sakhi deewaali

meri gardan ka jhilmil haar
meri gardan ka jhilmil haar
chamakta jaaye

mere baalon se sharma jaaye
