As it is, I am able to maintain little regularity and consistency in posting the songs that I so dearly want to. And then there are other factors that keep distracting me and taking me away from my own planned tracks (pun intended 🙂 ). So I get to start preparing a particular song for posting. And then a message will intervene – “do you have such and such song? Goodness, I just need to listen to it now” or a variation is that someone else, very dear to the requestor wants to listen to it. And so, one more draft continues to sit in the wordpress and my hard disk, and completely different song starts getting prepared.

After posting the ‘thhumri’ ‘Saajan ki Baat Niraali’, here is one more ‘thhumri’ by Suman Kalyanpur under the direction of Khan Saheb Abdul Rehman Khan. The traditional lyrics were modified by Khan Saheb himself. These two thumries were on an Extended Play disk (EP) and was purchased by me 46 years ago in January 1969.
