‘Dukhiyaari’, a social film, was produced by Jeevan Jyot Kala Mandir, Bombay, in 1948 and was directed by DK Ratan. The film’s star-cast consists of Surendra, Trilok Kapur, Meena, Ranjeet Kumari, Cuckoo, Chand Barq, Majnu, Bhudo Advani, Ramesh Mehta, Chandramohan etc.
Music to the lyrics of FM Kaisar was set to tune by the famous Gyan Dutt. According to HFGK there were twelve songs, out of which our musical blog has already three songs discussed earlier and this is the fourth one. The singers who gave their voices for the picture are Zohra, Surendra, GM Durrani, Meena Kapoor, Sulochana Kadam and Lata Mangeshkar.
This solo by Lata is being presented for your delight and discussion. When words like ‘Krushn Muraari‘ are in the title of the song, it is not at all difficult to presume that it is a Bhajan and that too a complaining type. Devotees always complain to Almighty, knowing very well that only He will solve his/her problem.
Looking at the list of twelve songs from the film in HFGK, there is another song by GM Durrani, which seems to be in response to the song under discussion. The wordings of that song are “Ab Kis Ko Sunaane Chali Tu Gham Ka Fasaana.”

Maheshji is right. I have gone through 400 songs of Gyan Dutt; no other Lata song. One of the reason could be that the period he was active Lata was trying to establish or the producers could not afford her rates whatever they maybe.
