“Dhamki”(1973) was produced by T H Shah and directed by Parwez Malik. It was a typical masala action movie of 1970s starring Vinod Khanna, Kumkum, Shyam Kumar, Helen, Meena T., Mehmood Junior, Bela Bose, Subhash Ghai, Ramesh Deo, Jayshree T.,Imtiaz, Ranjeet, Shetty etc in it.
Vinod Khanna plays a secret agent out to foil the nefarious anti national designs of the villains. The villains in this movie would outnumber the good people in most scenes including its songs.
The movie had five songs in it. Three of the better known songs from this movie have been covered in the blog long ago.
Here is the fourth song from “Dhamki”(1973) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Asad Bhopali is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ganesh.
Picturisation shows Vinod Khanna and Kumkum finding them surrounded by lots and lots of baddies. Kumkum pretends to be drunk and she lip syncs this song. This is a club dance song cum fight song where Vinod Khanna is seen dealing with the baddies while Kumkum’s lip syncing supposedly serves to divert the attention of the baddies.
