Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 78

This day ten years ago viz 13 september 2010 saw six songs getting covered. The fist post appeared at 6:06 AM whereas the sixth and final post of the day appeared at 17:37 AM. Six songs posted within 91 minutes. That is called making short work of the daily blog target ! 🙂
Here are the details of the six songs discussed on 9 september 2010:-

As can be seen from the above table, five movies out of six whose songs were covered ten years ago have since been YIPPEED. “Anmol Ghadi”(1946) and “Kismat”(1968) got YIPPEED ten years back on this day viz on 13 september 2010 !
So, that leaves us with “Ghoonghat”(1960) as the sole movie eligible for today’s blog Ten year challenge.

Here is the eighth song from Ghoonghat”(1960) to appear in the blog. This song is a stage dance performance song. It is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised on Helen and others. No, it is not a cabarat song, rather it is a proper desi dance performance, where Helen lip syncs in not just Hindi but also in Tamil, Bangla and Punjabi, accompanied by the appropriate regional dances as well.
The picturisation shows Helen and others on stage. Dancing legend Gopi Krishna also joins during the Tamil part of the song.
The audience seated in the front row include Pradeep Kumar, Bina Rai, Minu Mumtaz etc.
Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi.
