Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 99

This day ten years ago (viz 15 December 2010) was a wednesday, viz middle of the week. I was based at Nagpur. After initial struggle early in the year for settling down, I began to post songs at an average of 5 songs a day from
July 2010 onwards. Then there was a temporary slowdown in November 2010. I picked up pace again in december 2010. I notice that I had covered as many as seven songs on 15 december 2010. This was one of the seven occasions in the month when I posted as many as seven articles in a day. The first post appeared at 7:13 AM and the seventh at 9:27 AM. That is the kind of productivity I was capable of ten years ago. ! 🙂

One can notice that five out of 7 movies whose songs were covered ten years ago have since been YIPPEED.
“Bambai Raat Ki Baahon Mein”(1967) is one movie that made its debut ten years ago and that is the only song from that movie to appear in the blog so far. This movie was written,produced and directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. The movie had Surekha (as Asha), Madhavi (as Rosy), David (as Barrister Rameshchar), Irshad Panjathan, Prakash,Yunus Parvez,Madhukar, Hangal,Samir Kumar, Kuljit Singh, Ravikant, Bhagwan Sinha, Qamar Amrohi, Pardesi, Bhola, Jagadish Kumar, Ghanshyam Rohera, Moti Bina, Sunil Kaushik, Surendra Kaushik, Nazir Kashmiri, Chandulal, Verinder Raj Anand,and Athar Siraj. The movie introduced Persis Khambata as Lily, Vimal Ahuja as Amar and Jalal Agha as Johnny.
The movie had five songs in it.
Here is the second song from “Bambai Raat Ki Baahon Mein”(1967) to appear in the blog. The song, the title song of the movie, is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Chorus and an unknown nmale voice is also there in the song. The song is picturised as a stage performance song on Persis Khambhata, Jalal Agha and others. Hasan Kamal is the lyricist. Music is composed by J P Kaushik.
