In 1987 – 116 Hindi movies – 426 songs. I hope numbers are right – that comes to nearly 4 songs per movie. I can’t recall such a small number of songs per movie.

This refers to Shri Arun ji post – where he mentions LATA nearing 70 years in age. However, she was 58 – her year of birth being 1929. May be typo error. However, she bounced back in succeding years with films like CHANDNI , MAINE PYAR KIYA etc. However sings of aging were discernible in songs of those films.

I am sure I haven’t seen the complete movie. But I have vague memories of this movie. The movie had something to do with Shatrughan Sinha wanting to take revenge from Dharam. The couplesin the movie were Dharam and Moushumi, Neelam and Chunky. Neelam was Danny’s daughter. And I also recollect that Richa Sharma (a Dev Anand discovery) develops a liking for Shatru.
Richa Sharma became Mrs. Sanjay Dutt after this film or during its making. She appeared in only 5 films
I am surprised that Lata Mangeshkar had such a small number of songs in 1987. Then how come she seemed to be everywhere??

Lata`s small number of song during this period (I guess) because of T.Series/Gulshan Kumar/Anuradha paudwal factor

These are revelations. Her numbers in 1980s are lesser than in the earlier decades. I guess that her numbers will be in the same range in future years as well.

I have read somewhere that Lata’s health was the issue in early 1987. She was almost 70 year old and found it difficult to cope up with the running about for recordings. She had to cancel many recordings and finally it resulted in less demand for her, knowing that she may not be available. Later on in the years, she wantonly reduced her recordings.
