“Janam Janam Ke Phere”(1957) was produced by Subhash Desai and directed by Manmohan Desai for Mukta Films, Bombay. The movie had Nirupa Roy, Manhar Desai,

The movie had nine songs in it. Eight of these songs have been covered in the blog. Here are the details of the songs:-

Only one song from the movie is left to be covered.

Here is that final song from the movie. The song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Bharat Vyas is the lyricist. Music is composed by S N Tripathi.

The song is picturised on Nirupa Roy playing a bride and getting married to the wrong groom. She would not point this out to her elders, rather she would make the most of this opportunity to sing a melancholic song. Singing a melancholic song,(when wronged by fate) was considered the ultimate act of Bhartiya Nari in Hindi movies of those days. Nirupa Roy was one of the leading Bhartiya Naaris of those days. subsequently she graduated to the role of the ultimate Hindi movie maa. 🙂

Amar is also visible in the picturisation.

Lyrics of the song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

With this song, all the nine songs of “Janam Janam Ke Phere”(1957) get covered in the blog. The movie thus joins the list of movies that have been YIPPEED in the blog.
