The cast of this movie has Sachin, Rajani Sharma, Jayshree Gadkar, Bhavna Bhatt, Ravindra Mahajani, Bal Dhuri, Heena Kausar, Arvind Pandya, Padma Chavan, Sujata, Shekhar Purohit, Kishore Bhatt, Surya Kumar, Babu Raje, Azad, Master Tinu, Moolchand, Himmat Singh Chauhan, Baby Manisha, Master Naveenchandra, Master Bittoo, Sahgal and others. Dara Singh, Sumitra Devi and Sulochana made guest appearances in this movie.
‘Bolo He Chakradhaari-1977’ has six songs written by Kavi Pradeep and composed by Ravindra Jain. The playback singers for this movie are Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar, and Mahendra Kapoor.
I have neither watched this movie nor I have listened to any songs from this movie.
I present the first song from this movie which is in the voice of Asha Bhonsle. The song is lip synced by Heena Kausar who is seen wooing and teasing Ravindra Mahajani (the handsomest smiling face of Marathi Cinema of the seventies) on a boat. . The boat is accompanied by another boat full of females who serve the purpose of singing in chorus and joining Heena Kausar in teasing him while their boat is ferried by a boatman. Meanwhile, on the bank of the river Moolchand is very animatedly drawing up his own schemes in the company of another man.
I have not watched this movie so I am not aware of the background behind this song. Nevertheless it is a nice composition which is picturised very well. Heena Kausar gives a wonderful performance in the picturisation of this song. Kavi Pradeep was mainly known for penning devotional and patriotic songs, but here he proves that he could pen lyrics of a “shringar ras” song with aplomb as well.
With this hidden gem of a song, ‘Bolo He Chakradhaari-1977’ makes its debut in the blog.
