“Hangaama”(1952) was produced and directed by Ram Kamlani for Gope Productions, Bombay. The movie had Nutan, Nasir Khan, K N Singh, David, Cuckkoo, Gope, Yakoob etc in it. Raj Mehra had made a guest appearance in the movie.
“Hangaama”(1952) had nine songs in it. Audio of all the nine songs of this movie are available. It shows that the music of this movie was very popular.
But the video of the movie is not available. I have no idea how the movie fared at the box office. Did the movie flop badly and that led to the prints of this movie getting lost with time ? I could not find out the story of this movie anywhere. I request our knowledgeable readers to share the story of this movie.

We observe that Lata Mangeshkar and C Ramchandra (five songs) were the main playback singers in the movie who sang a solo suggesting that they may have given playback to the lead pair of Nutan and Nasir Khan. Mohammad Rafi, with four songs was the other male plaback singer, so he must have some for some important character who played the friend/ sidekick of the hero. Shamshad Begam too figured in one song.
We also observe that as many as five songs out of eight were covered by our beloved inhouse Encyclopeadi, Arunkumar Deshmukh jee. In fact, his 1300th and 1900th posts in the blog were brought up by covering songs of this movie. So this movie and its songs must have meant a lot to him.
Here is the ninth and final song from “Hangaama”(1952) to appear in the blog. This melancholic song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Seeing that Lata Mangeshkar sang six songs (including four solos), it is obvious that she had given playback to Nutan in this song and in the movie.
